Multiple levels in Forums is not distinguishable in Screen Reader

Hi I am using Omega in one site where we have forums. The screen reader is able to read the forum topics but all the topics appear flat list. Is it possible to somehow distinguish child topics from parent topic. May be by inserting different heading tags for the child?
