Over the last few days, anytime I try to visit Drupal, I get hit by messages from an organization called Project Honey Pot.
It usually occurs around 8 pm local time.
The messages usually say my mobile modem IP has been "grey listed" and that I must visit their site to be "white listed" or Drupal.
This is the last link to their site dealing with me: http://www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_41.190.89.75
As you can see they are claiming all sorts of things but if you check carefully, you will see that the 40 or so emails purportedly sent from my IP clearly have nothing to do with "spam harvesting" or any of the other libelous claims Honey Pot makes.
My initial suspicion was that Drupal engaged them to block people from Ghana but when I saw adverts of the President Ghana H. E. John Mahama featured on their website, I realized there was more to it.
I am making this report because my friend also faced similar threats from Project Honey Pot.
Honey Pot says that we should register with them to "qualify" to be white listed permanently.
I think this is total blackmail of the highest order - especially with their threat of "law enforcement" implications.
Ghana is one of the best democracies in Africa with very kind law abiding citizens. President Obama visited us immediately after winning the 2008 elections to affirm this fact. He did not even go to his father's country, Kenya.
I think Project Honey Pot is scaring Drupal users in Ghana and I may consider legal action in the United States against Project Honey Pot for false claims.
