In Safari 2.0.4 the favicon is displayed in 32x32 pixels. Screenshot attached.

How about removing it completely? It's a nice branding but my browser displays enough Druplicons in one window anyway.

Could you please test attached patch and report back if it is displayed smaller afterwards?

Hint: theme_admin_menu_icon() is a regular theme function and may be overridden in a theme to display something else or nothing at all.
