New lessons created with Rules lack dates

Problem/Motivation

When using the quick-add feature to add new lessons, the dates are not set. This is because the date fields have a complex structure, and while Rules can set individual date values it cannot create the whole date field.

Proposed resolution

Either allow Rules to create completely new date entries (best solution), or make a custom-written solution for this case only (likely solution).

Create solution, test solution, iterate.
