Byron Bay Artists is my 4th Drupal Install... But it is definately my best one yet.

Please check it out and give me any feedback.

Obviously I still have a few style issues to tidy. But it's always a work in progress. :)

Enjoy! And all feedback is greatly appreciated.

I like how the galleries are listed on a single page plus the Google maps next to the gallery - nice touch.

you are getting an invalid argument js error in IE7 in the galleries.

I like the artist showcase you have on the front page. Great way to draw people in.

The rest of the site - well, the bottom 3/4 - feels too cluttered. With what should be snippets of info, you seemed to have put everything there. I think that the local artist and local galleries list on the front should have a few items with a link to the page with the rest listed. (Random on the front would work.) And maybe style the right side items differently.

And I do get the scrollbar at 1022px wide.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! Be critical! I need it...

Definately need to "unclutter"! I think I just kept adding module after module...getting each one working one by one, and not really thinking of the bigger picture. I am having a module freeze now, haha and I will concentrate on styling it up! :)

Am working on shrinking the whole page down a litte. And restyling the profile pages.

Also looking for a way to shorten my teasers from 200 to 100... Cant find a way?!?!?

Does anyone know of a module that displays a CCK text field at lets say 200 characters (like a teaser)... and has a read more button.. if there is more text, and rather than reloading the whole page... it just dynamically opens the text into that same page.

Ie: on a profle page there is all the pictures... and location info.. and events etc.... and a bit of text about the artists... but some artists write a novel and it stretches my page out... i want to make a "read more" button so people can decide whether they want to see the rest of the text or not...? but i dont want to reload the whole page over... (ie: have 2 versions of the same page)

Thanks as always!

teasers are controlled in administer -> post settings. However, the new settings don't take effect until that node is edited and resaved.

ahh yes. but can i go lower than 200 characters? :)

vm’s picture

ahhhhh! not without hacking the code base. Thought the lowend limit was 100

any idea where? :) heh.... i've search high and low to hack it. but can't seem to find where that little bit might be. :)

I need the limit to be about 50... I just want to give the idea that words are there... :)

node.module maybe ?

$form['teaser_length']

Overall, good start.... now to the details
The nav bar ends and leaves the right sidebar hanging out half way in the air.

Right sidebar has an identity crisis. It's an odd mix of center and left justification. The username / password box is left and the login button is centered... Same with most of the rest of the blocks.

Gallery artist description just runs on and on to the right, forcing a right scroll instead of wrapping....

Page generation is slow. I understand you have a lot going on, just mentioning it.

Looks like a good start overall.

shit. i use a mac at home and it was all good in safari and FF but a mess in IE. so i am at work using IE and I fixed it for IE. must have broken it for FF (and probably safari)! :)
