There are times when I want to make an update to someone's comment or post to our forums and I don't want my change to trickle up to the top of the 'Recent Discussions' list. Examples include broken links, typos, or formatting issues. The content hasn't really changed and I get people confused as to why something that is a year old is considered new when I've only fixed the broken link.

Sometimes, I'll go into the database afterwards and set the node/revision updated time to the created time, but I know that's just asking for various issues.

I find it interesting that we can set the creation date and time for a node via the GUI, but not the mod time. Is there something out there that allows an administrator to freeze the mod time for an update or revert it somehow (without reverting the content)?

Thanks!
