Views, categories, blocks, and pages

Hey, all. I need help with Views.

I've set up a set of categories and am trying to create pages and blocks, and I'll try to describe it:

Here are some sample categories:

Video Games
-Wii
-PS3
-XBox 360

I used the categories module to turn that into a menu, but it's not exactly what I wanted. I'd actually like to create two separate menus in separate blocks based on node type like so:

Stories
------------
Video Games
-Wii
-PS3
-XBox 360
------------

------------
Reviews
------------
Video Games
-Wii
-PS3
-XBox 360
------------

OR, having them both in the same block, but still separated by node type would be OK.

When you click on one of the items, it should take you to a page with only either stories or reviews with that category.

Make sense? Is this possible with Views? If I add more categories or decide to rearrange them, I don't want to have to manually edit blocks.
