I am experiencing a problem similar to that detailed for v. 5.x-0.8 here (http://drupal.org/node/142216).
I installed jquery update a couple of days ago. Initially I received an error because I moved (rather than copying) the required .js file to the misc folder, but corrected that and the system seems mostly to work, except:
When I use my browser of choice (Firefox) edit a view using Views, there is no arrow available to expand collapsed fields, and clicking does not expand the fields. In other words, Views is crippled.
When I use Explorer, at least I can expand collapsed fields, but I cannot collapse expanded fields. This is annoying, but at least not crippling. But it concerns me that it might be symptomatic of a bigger problem.
I have notice similar behavior when editing nodes as well.
My host is running Linux kernel v. 2.6.21.1-ts.grh.mh.i386, machine type i686, Apache v. 1.3.37 (Unix), Perl v. 5.8.8, PHP 5.1.6, MySQL 4.1.22-standard, CPANEL build 11.11.0-STABLE 16999.
Is there something that can be done to correct this?
Thank you.

femrich commentedI'm updating this issue now to critical, as I see that even with Explorer the options at the end of a content type appear unexpanded, with no expand arrow, and clicking does not expand them. In effect, this prevents me from controlling publishing options, url options, and so on, which is a major, major problem.
Would it be possible please:
1) to point me to instructions on doing a complete uninstall of JQuery Update, and,
2) helping me figure out what the problem is so I can assess whether to reinstall the module?
Thank you.

femrich commentedI don't understand the content of this entry (http://drupal.org/node/147256), but the title (Not safe for multisite) makes me think I should add that I am running a multisite installation.

heddnMarking this as won't fixed. 5.x is no longer supported/maintained. If this is still an issue in 7.x, then please re-open.
