Hi i am trying to get the nivo slider to work on my website I have downloaded all necessary modules and configured views blocks and content types but it does not seem to work could someone please have a look and help me i would be very grateful thanks

some overview of the steps you've taken would aid. Specifically with how the view is set up.
installed the modules views,
installed the modules views, link, jquery update, ctools and views nivo slider
1. Created a content type called slideshow removed body field label and removed tick for promote to front page
2. Clicked manage fields and added image, text and link fields set path to slideshow and for all set required
3. Create content (slideshow) called portfolio one and portfolio two in each i put an image, text and link
(I could not find imagecache to set a preset do not know if this is the issue)
4. Added the view slideshow and to the view added the fields image,text and link clicked no label for all three of these
5. Added filters content:node and content:published and selected only show node type slideshow
6. Changed the style to views nivo slider
7. Changed the row style to views nivo slider
8. set image field to image, title field to text and link field to link( the ones created above)
9. Added a block and put the slideshow in the block

now the images are just the wrong size is this because i dont have the imagecahce preset??
Did you create an image style
Did you create an image style and select it in your content type>manage display? If so go to your view, select the setting for your format. In "Image field style" select your image style.
Where does the tutorial want you to select imagecahce?

imagecache is to D6 what image styles are to D7
@VM imagecache is in the core
@VM imagecache is in the core of D7 (At least that is what imagecache says on the module's page). In the tutorial above it says to create an image style and razself said that the images were the wrong size. So I assumed the image style was missing or not applied.

reading the issues linked to the description stated would clarify that imagecache functionality is indeed in core in D7. Though it's not the imagecache module as known in contrib much of the functionality was pulled from it. verbiage changes occurred as well from D6 to D7. D6 did not refer to image styles. imagecache module in D6 referred to them as presets.
I mentioned what I did because I thought the user in question was using image cache and image styles interchangeably which is what often occurs when functionality is moved into core. Similar to stating that CCK is in core in D7, the CCK module is not in D7. The fieldsapi is in D7 which provides cck functionality and deprecates CCK.

I'm not questioning what you provided. You've helped me multiple times with my problems. I'm still new to Drupal and learning. I just had the same problems when I created my slider.
