Please Help!!
I am having an issue with backing up my Drupal site. I have been exporting my site regularly as backup, my site has since had a few issues (my administrator bar over the top of the site has disappeared so I have no access to any configuration or changes, this among other issues) and I now need to use my backup files to restore my site.
My files are saved to my desktop in tar.gz format, can someone please explain how I use these files to restore my site or import my site back into drupal.

Drupal consist of both files and db so you'll need to restore both.
The files should be unzipped/unpacked to the folder that is the root of your drupal site (usually something like 'public_html' but it will depend entirely on your hosting environment.
Restoring the db is more complicated and also depends on entirely on your hosting setup. You're best bet is to check the docs for you host for help/how-to restore a db.
