Metas on Custom Pages override Metas on Nodes [#1865764]

I've set up a "Custom Page" entry for some specific pages ("blah/*") with meta tag info which works if I create a page called "blah/something".

If I edit that page and add meta tag info there, whatever I enter gets ignored.

I'd like to use the information in the "Custom Page" entry to be the default and have the individual node be able to override what was in the "Custom Page" entry. Is this possible?

From what I have been able to learn in the code is the defaults are loaded first. Then is a customer page is defined that matches, all of the defaults are thrown away and the settings in the custom page is used. If and only if no custom page is defined, then the metas in the node itself are used.
