I see this pattern pretty pervasively through panopoly, alter hooks are written with the assumption that the things being altered are only the panopoly base things. I think this assumption is inacurate if panopoly is billing itself as a base distribution to be build on top of.

Quite right. Just pushed up a check to only run the logic in cases where its Panopoly's profile. Other issues can be fixed the same way when we find them.
