Unfortunately when using "Node export" (http://drupal.org/project/node_export) the export/import does not work cause the title generation is not recognized.

Is there a workaround for that?

I've imported nodes from one site to another it is working fine and same title is generated. If content type in the two sites is using different pattern or tokens to generate title then you can go to 'admin/content' and select the imported node and choose "update auto nodetitles" option from update option.
