Content access integration does not work for pre-authenticated role if anonymous is not allowed to see content

Hi,

Im using Logintoboggan 7.x-1.3 and Content Access 7.x-1.2-beta1. LoginToboggan Content Access Integration has been enabled.

News content type has been setup as follow:
"anonymous" role cannot view content
"authenticated" role can view content
"pending" (pre-authenticated) role can view content
All of these roles have been assigned to have "View published content" permission.

The problem is: setting for "pending" role does not. Pending users cannot view any news content at all. Other settings work just fine. If I set "anonymous" role to be able to view news content then all settings will work but its a requirement to have this content type restricted from anonymous users.
I thought the "Content Access Integration" module from LoginToboggan should fix this but it does not in my case.

Does anyone know if I need to use a specific module version for these to work?
Much appreciate it if anyone can point me to the right direction to sort this one out.
