Issues with Gallery and drupal - please help me

Situation:

I am not sure if this is a gallery issue only or a gallery embedded issue. Please help me as I am lost :( .

- installed drupal and it was fine
- installed gallery alone and it was fine
- embedded gallery within drupal using instructions on gallery.menalto.com and Drupal.org
- everything seemed to be fine!

Setup Details:
Gallery version: 2.2.3
PHP version: 5.0.4
PHPInfo: (see end of post)
Webserver: Apache
Database: MySql 5.0.32)
Activated toolkits: default with installation
Server Operating system: Linux
Browser: Firefox 2.0 and IE
Drupal: 5.2
drupal in: httpdocs/
gallery2 in: httpdocs/modules/gallery2
gallery module in: httpdpcs/modules/gallery
gallery data in: httpdocs/g2data

One day passes. I go to upload some photos and now I am
1) unable to access the embedded gallery by going directly to /httpdocs/modules/gallery/ Doing so gives me the error:

Database Error

An error has occurred while interacting with the database.

The block is fine in Drupal, but since I have no photos, I cannot see anything.

What do I do? What is the next step? And if you need more information to help me, please tell me what you need and I will reply.

This is for a youth site and I don't want to disappoint the kids as I had said the site would be up (and I thought it was!) but then this error came along!
