In the last 24 hours I received more then 20 emails that "There is a security update available" for my site.
It is good to receive this alert however 20 emails is far too much. I wonder why so many sent?
Did someone had this too?

i have no clue how you're getting 20-- core allows for configuration for daily and weekly. You can at least change that to weekly.

It is configured to weekly :(
It looks like for each cron run and for some of the user visits I get a new mail
I think the problem is not the actual "check for update" which I guess is done weekly
but the trigger for sending the mail, some system variable or flag that is not being reset
