Is article a default content type? If not try the same thing with a default content type

I don't know why its appearing as plain text, have you tried an alternative browser? and/or cleared you current browsers cache etc?

Try adding this after your web address:

admin/structure/types/manage/article/display

For e.g. www.drupal.com/admin/structure/types/manage/article/display

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on. :)

Are we allowed to make festive jokes on D O? If so, why do I get an access denied when I try to access www.drupal.com/admin/structure/types/manage/article/display ?

Because your not logged in as admin? btw that was an example... I was saying to him to try on his website.

Come on your not that stupid that you would try accessing drupal.com/admin? it was an example Lol..

Any may be actually reading the post properly might help.

Look i'm just a noob, new to drupal, was just trying to help..

Have you been playing with permissions or settings or anything like that? Some sort of strange server setup, give a clue, cos this should not happen and it certainly has never happened to me.

Well, I just transferred over to a VPS

I got the same problem for my site under the Drupal 7.22.

Go to admin/structure/types/manage/article/display, I find the custom display option is just text without link, not possible to set a new display option.

Any solution? Thanks!

Hello,
I have the same problem. I am a newbie in drupal. I am using inmotion hosting as hosting service. I setup Drupal in a subfolder, and there was not a problem like this. Then I decided to setup in the main directory and then the custom display settings became a text line. Funny thing about it that I am keeping my other subfolder drupal site and the custom display setting is working over there. Checked the google but no reasonable answer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Go to configuration. In development there is performance link. In performance page check 'aggregate javascript files' checkbox. Then it works.
