Scheduled backup is not removing .info files

Issue Summary

Scheduled backup is not removing .info files.
I have set up the schdule to keep 6 backup files. Backup is fine and the cron is removing the mysql.gz files and keeping only 6 files. However, it is not removing the corresponding .info files.

I have version 7.x-2.4, but still the issue of undeleted .info files.
