How to remove punctuation from taxonomy freetagging user input?

Hi all,

I have a taxonomy based freetag input that allow insert of one or more terms separated by commas.

I need a validation that doesn't allow punctuation (e.g. dots and semicolons) within terms.

I to do that with this module?
