I'm doing this site for fun and experience. I'm using Drupal 5.2 and modified the Sky theme to fit my needs. I really like this theme and it really works for my site since I'm keeping it really simple for now. I just went live with the site and am slowly starting to add content. I'm still working on some of the color scheme and navigation. What does everyone think?

1. Drop the welcome to line
2. Rewrite the text and reduce it by 50 percent- tell people what they can do here and what the benefits might be.
3. Get some mileage out of that very large photo if you are going to keep it- in the lower right hand side "Share your Hawaii" why not make that clickable and go right to where people can share their thoughts.
4. Lead by example- in item 3 why not provide your idea of Hawaii?
5. The Adsense stuff is too much like an Ad. Go with a white background instead with standard blue links.

Thanks for the feedback. I do agree that my mission statement is too large and needs to be more concise. I'm going to keep the large photo in the header since it's very inviting and helps to give the initial feel for the site. I might reduce the width later on once more content gets added. I'm stilling working on the color scheme and I'm not too sure if I'm happy with how the adds look yet.

its absolutely beautiful.
i admit i dont like when stuff is overly cluttered at the header, with banner and google text ads. your header really takes me away to to paradise.

Good job. I like the idea behind the site. Good luck with everything! Only suggestions I have are to make a favicon, and maybe work on decreasing white-space. Again, Good luck and Good job.

I added a favicon and have been getting rid of some of that whitespace...especially on the front page. Content is slowly coming along...thanks for the advice.
