is it possible to integrate with Organic groups?

What does 'integrate' mean for you? What features do you expect exactly? How exactly would you use Gallery2 and OG together?
However at the moment there is no 'support' of any kind for OG available.

Hi profix898,

It's me again ...well I am "shopping" a round for my picture gallery. reading the forum, I am "intimidated" by the large size of gallery2 codes and the amount of work need to be done to integrate. I hope you don't mind.

I have list of states which is based on taxonomy. A node type will have description/information with bunch of CCK fields will be tagged for this taxonomy filtered by Views/Panels. Now, each taxonomy or state will have own photo galleries. Also, each states may have groups (OG). And of course, each users will have their own gallery. There's a module called OG_galleries, ok but as we know, G2 has much more features :-)

i was hoping that, by having the integration with OG, each groups can have their own gallery, only group member can submit and view pictures. Public can also view it if set as public.

I just took a start with OG and Gallery2. In principle its not too difficult to implement per-group galleries. We can easily utilize the multiroot plugin to provide separate galleries :) Really nice and simple. Unfortunatly I dont have time to write a complete module atm, but its on my todo list (and a crude draft is already in my head and halfway on the desktop) ...

That's good. Since I have to get my site up by Jan 2008, I think for now I would go for Acidfree. It works ok, of course with less functionality. Auto creation of gallery upon group creation, need to do manual hack.

This feature will be available for the Drupal 6 version of gallery module only as it depends on the multiroot feature (which is not in 5.x-2.x). Obviously for coding the module I need OG and OG depends on Views, which is still in an early stage (see http://drupal.org/node/193346). 'Gallery OG' will therefore not be ready before the end of Jan08 (I guess) ... :(

A few words on the implementation (from http://drupal.org/node/91233):
"The gallery_og module will not sync OGs with G2 groups or Drupal roles (thats not how OGs are implemented in Drupal either) but will use the Multiroot feature to provide separate 'views' of the gallery. The module will create an album for each group in a configurable/dedicated album (similar to the useralbum feature) and the group will see this specific album as root album, what means all other items/albums are not visible/accessible to/by the OG ..."

I am revisiting this page again ... and wonder what have happen especially the "gallery_og module".

I end up go a head without any photo gallery. I would need much more functionality i.e purchase/download picture etc. gallery2 is heavy, but might be worth to try now?

I am terribly sorry for not being such a helper ...

I mentioned above that GalleryOG will be available for Drupal 6 only ... and as long as OrganicGroups itself is not ready for D6 there obviously cant be a GalleryOG yet ;)
Also we decided to create a separate project (Gallery Addon) for modules extending the basic gallery module's functionality for tighter integration with Drupal and other modules (such as Views, CCK, Panels and OG).

hey
i'm wondering whether the OG integration is actually incorporated in GalleryAddon?
if it is i can't see how to set it up properly...
Gallery is by far the best gallery around, but full integration with OG (or any other moderator/group capability) is still needed.
cheers.
