When using the theme with a superfish menu - I get a standard menu in the navigation bar as well as the dropdown superfish menu...

Is there anyway to get that extra menu off the bar?

You either have two menu blocks put in that region or else you need to disable the "main menu" option on the theme configuration page. I suspect it is the second. Go to admin/appearance/settings/cti_flex and in the "Toggle Display" section, uncheck "Main Menu". I think that will fix it, but let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks that now works but the silverfish menu does not appear within the grey area that the menu should by the looks of it. Check out the new capture for what I mean.

It looks like you have your superfish menu block put in the sidebar region. It should go in the Navigation bar region and be set to be a horizontal menu.
