Hi,

i tried to give a specific node the frontpage template and created a node (with for example id =3) and copied page--front.tpl.php to page--3.tpl.php as it is documented in the drupal 7 documentation. Is this right? I'm getting an odd behavour:
The slider appears in the content area.

Did anyone handle to move the frontpage look to another node?

HI,

For the front page use * page--front.tpl and remaining page you can use page--node.tpl.php/page.tpl.php

and you can also creat second specific as front page
