I wanted to announce the launch of our new website: http://www.echoinggreen.org/ Echoing Green, based in New York City, provides seed capital to social entrepreneurs.
Built on Drupal 5.1 with a host of contributed modules (CCK, Views, Thickbox, ImageCache, Feedburner, Diff, TinyMCE, Workflow, Actions... to name a few). We've also got a cool little xml-powered flash slideshow on the homepage.
The drupal community has been AMAZING in helping us launch this site, and I just wanted to send out my thanks. I would also love any feedback and constructive criticism. We're proud of what we've accomplished, but the hard work is just starting.
The next project: Overhauling our custom grant application site... Forms API? Other suggestions?

Nice work, I love the
Nice work, I love the design. The only issue I noticed is that the drop down menus are partially transparent in Firefox, making them difficult to read. Great work!
Thanks for the comments
Regarding the starting point:
We began the design process with photoshop mockups. Our designer has no Drupal experience, but he had a great eye for detail. The photography was done this summer, and not originally intended for the site. We just loved the black and white though, and the wdydwyd signs really speak to our mission.
With the designs in hand, we broke apart the base chameleon theme and created a custom theme from the chopped up photoshop.
Re: the transparent menus - that was intentionally to do the transparency, but agree that they can be hard to read (especially on the home page).

Very nice indeed
I like the concept (I may even apply ;-). I like the look of the site green and tidy. Great job all around.
Would you let the community know how you build the site?
For instance why did you choose these modules over the many other ones?
Kind regards,
Marc.

Hi, very nice website
Hi, very nice website indeed. Clean and easy. How did you go about designing your base theme? Did you hire someone or modify an existing theme? (I'm just a newbie, so looking for a starting point - where did you start, design wise?)
Why can't I visit Echoing Green anymore?
I am just trying to log onto the Echoing Green website and can no longer do it because of Drupal. Why? What is the purpose of making social justice so difficult to access?
I tried downloading the Drupal folder, but it does not install automatically. Now I am engaged in some labyrinthine installation nightmare. I fail to see the value in this.
Can someone help and explain.
Thanks.
i was just there! i wonder
i was just there! i wonder how they did that overlay of a youtube clip. anybody know?
Huh?
I just looked at it and it's fine. Why are you trying to install Drupal to visit the website? You don't need Drupal unless you're setting up your own website.
