Hi, I want to install a subdomain based drupal multisite, but the root domain should be a custom HTML site I developed. So it'll be like :

www.example.com : Custom HTML site I developed
sub1.example.com, sub2.example.com, sub3.example.com, sub4.example.com : Drupal multisite

I haven't really come across a way to do this. Any ideas ?

I suspect this approach will work, set up sub1.example.com as a subdomain using Drupal. Then use that as the base of your multisite setup.
