Private File Downloads

I want to be able to have private file downloads for authenticated users and admins. I don't see any modules that allow me to achieve this.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

It's part of core-- when you create a file field you can select whether it's public or private.

Thank you.

When I attach the files to the created page I can see them when I goto preview but I cannot view them when the page is published.

Any ideas?

If the files are still there when you edit the node, then it's probably a permissions issue.

Thanks but that wasn't it.

Under, Home » Administration » Structure » Content types » Basic page, I didnt remove file attachment from under Hidden. It was very easy to overlook. Oh well I know better for next time.

Hopefully this helps others in the future.
