Hi, I am new at using Drupal but it seems possible to do most things...
So I was wondering what the easiest/most convenient way to build a site like IMDB.com but instead of movies I want to add all sorts of media (movies, books, games, music etc). First I was thinking about using some form of wiki, but I want the users to be able to comment/vote on every item that is added to the database.
http://drupal.org/project/moviedb together with http://drupal.org/project/simple_review and maybe some more voting module would probably turn out the way I want it to. Problem is that this would only work for movies...
So my question is; What is the easiest way to build a site were users can add diffrent items (movies, books, games, music, tvshows, etc) and then write a small review, grade it or just comment it?

I'm planning something similar
When you find out let me know. I'm planning to do something similar but mostly for music. The main concern is allowing users to add content. How to prevent duplicate entries. I was thinking of displaying related terms and letting users decide if what they want to add already exists. Another variation could be to alert the administrator to confirm only in cases where entries are similar, for instance "TD Jakes" and "T.D. Jakes". What you could do is create a new content type with CCK which includes the review but allows users to comment on that node. You may have to use a five star rating module. The only hitch may be if you want other users to be able to review something that someone else has created but i think simple review works for all node types. All the best
