Would like to join the team

Hi all,
This, I believe, is my first post here.
I've been using WP for a while now, and feel like I can help with its development. How can I do it? Do I join a certain team of developers, for example? I am interested in translation to Russian and/or Ukrainian. Can anyone help me?

Thanks for your interest. I am new here too and didnt have enough knowledge , does any group here that is related to translation or not. but if you have interest to join professional translators group. please PM me.
