Drupal for student/alumni tracking

I'm looking for a Drupal (or other CMS) solution that will easily track individuals from the time they first contact our college all the way through to Alumni status - The end goal being to create a full profile history on each student we interact with.

Desired Features:
-- Student's account Creation/Management
-- Pre-enrollment contact emails (Newsletters, event notification)
-- Track degree programs/specializations (make sure they are completing the requirements for their degree)
-- Track various classes student is enrolled in
-- Store important event information (Field Study Oportunities, Internships, etc)
-- Store important DOCs (Field Study Applications, Dissertation, etc)

Not Needed
-- Class level details (Grades, instructors notes, sylibi)
-- Payment (Tuition due, etc.)

I'm sure there are out-of-the box solutions for this. Anybody have any suggestions?
