backup not happening

Description
i used to have backup happening earlier...but oft late..its not happening..
i run on ixwebhosting.com
i used to find that onlly the dbase used to get backed up and the other things showed errors..i used to be happy enough atleast having a dbase backup..
but now even that doesnt happen..no reaction from the page on clicking the Backup button...it just asks me to wait..Pls stand by....but nothing happens...even if i wait for half hour :(
i upgraded to 4.x-dev..still no help..
what cld be wrong??
