Token help (Token_Insert, Token_Filter, Token_Field)

Hi,

I am trying to create a feature like a time stamp when someone makes a comment on a node. However, instead of stamping date and time, I want it to be a stamp of the user name, first name, last name, phone number (profile fields) and the organic group they belong to.

I tried using the Token Insert and Token Filter - for some reason, instead of stamping what is in the field, it stamps the token.

Then, I tried using the token field module which seemed to work. However, when I tried it on a new comment, it also added the stamp to all the old comments too.

Also, if the user edits their profile fields, I don't want the old stamps (on the old comments) to be changed.

Any recommendations on how to do this effectively would be appreciated!!
