When the Overlay is displayed, it blocks my admin_menu dropdowns. See attached.

I had the same problem - and after looking at your setup I found mine to be similar.

I disabled both the system "Toolbar" and the "Administration menu Toolbar style". That will let you have the administration menu with a slim menubar and working dropdowns. This, after all seems nice since the larger Toolbar style takes up unneeded space anyway (imo).

Or use Firefox since the problem is not present there.

It seems it is related to an older release. Please to use the latest version and if you are still facing the issue, please come back, reopen the issue and fill with more information. :)
