X New Comments Link in Node Teaser not working properly

Hi,

I'm hoping this is the correct place to post this...

I have sorting set as newest to oldest.

The comment links that appear on a node teaser, include a link to new content if there is new content available.

Clicking that link takes me to the last page in the pager, to the first comment that was posted to the node.

Expected behavior would be to direct to the oldest "new" post available regardless of the page.

Does anyone have a workaround for this?
