I need to upload a file from drupal.org to ban a referrer url.
But I don't know how to upload it.
I couldn't find a file upload module on my site. Should I upload through godaddy and how?
Thanks.

Use ftp.

Filezilla is a free-libre FTP client. You enter your domain name, the user name (you can create other ftp users in your godaddy panel) and password. Then you just drag-and-drop your files into the remote folder.

You can also use the web-based FTP client in GoDaddy's control panel.

May I insert adsense through ftp?

Do you mean install the adsense module?
http://drupal.org/project/adsense

To install any module, you need to upload it to your drupal installation:

I have installed it to the module directory. But I can't see it on modules when I login to my site.
I downloaded adsense-5.x-1.6.tar.gz file to my desktop and installed it module directory through ftp. What did I miss?

Go to:
sites\all\modules\
And install it there.
If you don't have the modules directory under sites\all, then you'll have to create it.
Other than that, I really suggest you read the Drupal 5 Handbook and other stuff in the Handbooks.
