hi,

I want site users signing up on the site to also choose which group/s they want to join. I set the Group Membership field (Account Settings manage field) to appear on registration page and it does so but EMPTY! I've been looking for ways to populate it with existing groups but to no avail.

Did I miss a step or two or is this just a bug (it's development release anyway)? Thanks in advance.

This is not currently a part of Commons but would make a great feature request. Since it's likely to be included with #1578164: Onboarding process for new community members, I'm marking as a duplicate of that issue.
