Christian Drupal Expert needed for...

providencebookclub - November 5, 2007 - 03:43

I need a "Christian" Drupal Expert who desires to work with other Christian Drupal users whether they be potential Christian Customers, potential Christian Service Providers, or potential Christian Goods Providers, etc.

Potential Profit Share to successful candidate.

For those of you who are offended... I am sorry to have done this to you. I do not want to offend anyone. I am simply looking for likeminded Drupal Expert to work with.

Thanks for understanding.

Is this even legal

ulfk - November 5, 2007 - 04:40

?

of course it's legal

bardkerbie - November 5, 2007 - 05:19

whether it makes any difference is the question you should be asking. i could know the four gospels by heart and be absolutely clueless about drupal. personally, i'd rather pay somebody who knows what they're doing rather than a fellow pharisee, but to each their own.

Most likely illegal

ulfk - November 5, 2007 - 13:26

Its not legal to hire based on sex, race, or gender. I doubt its legal to hire based on religion. Maybe not in this instance, but a litigious future contractor could use this post very negatively against Scott from Providence Book Club.

I am not hiring anyone...

providencebookclub - November 5, 2007 - 18:02

I am looking for someone to work with, who will share profits they help to create. This is a more of a "joining" the team than a "hiring". Like I said, I didn't want to offend anyone. The site will be based around the Christian lifestyle, and I thought it would be best if team members were Christian. Wanting to work with likeminded people on a project like this would not fall under "pharseeism".

I could offer some help.

Salocin.TEN - November 5, 2007 - 06:59

Because my Website uses Drupal now, and I am fast learning it all the way through.

I know almost everything except for module and theme development.

Thanks and God bless.

Sincerely,

If anyone is interested, I'm looking for a mid-30 year old white male non-smoker straight Mormon to help me with my new website. :) Just kidding. I think I read that here (US/Texas) it's legal to discriminate on any of these issues as long as you are a small company.

Why does religion make a difference when building a Drupal site?

Why religion...

providencebookclub - November 6, 2007 - 15:39

It is because in this particular case I am looking for sort of a partner to work with us long term. If this upsets you that much, I am sorry. Everyone knows that websites are more successful when it contains content you are familiar with and enjoy. I want to work with someone who will enjoy this project, and I know a Christian will enjoy helping and connecting with other Christians.

That is difficult for people

develCuy - March 30, 2008 - 02:15

That is difficult for people to trust other people. So everyone have parameters to protect him self from something, take SCAMS as example. I personally would prefer to work with christian people because Bible says that, but who knows who? only God knows our hearths in deep. Please don't feel it as discrimination but in South America, those who confess evangelism have to fulfill 5 more requisites to qualify for a mortgage than "normal" people who don't cares about religion.

What to do? What Jesus does: love at the cost of live!

It depends on the nature of

ls_adam - November 13, 2007 - 04:11

It depends on the nature of the relationship. If I was hiring someone for a long-term position, I would take someone with a little experience and a lot of passion over someone with a lot of experience and little passion. Passion increases the effort and commitment that someone puts into a job. In any religious endeavor I suspect that would be especially important, because the financial returns are usually ... less than inspiring. ;)

Seems like a rather ridiculous, fruity request. You're hung up on their religious faction rather than if they can accomplish the job or not; which is what really matters.
