Hello drupal community
It is my first time to be here, so please be patient...
We, the members of the fanclub of the Art Rock Band Sylvan, run the website www.sylvan-fanclub.de on Drupal 5.x for a long time now. Of course we will upgrade to drupal 7.x as soon as possible, but...
The problem:
Since more than a year we have no more access to the user profiles customized fields. They are symply not shown.
If someone (even a user whos role is admin) opens MyAccount, only the headline is shown (UserName Show Edit ...); the rest of the page is blank. Even if admins open the user account profile of other users, only these headline is visible.
If "Edit" is chosen (from the headline shown on the MyAccount page), the buttons "save" and "delete" do appear. But none of the fields are shown.
This has been different and we do not know, who of us did something wrong and how he did. Before this we, the admins, had complete access to everything.
More details on what we tried to solve the problem:
In the path /cms/admin/user/profile (menu path: administer / User management / Profiles) one can set up the visibility of the user profile custom fields (we have fields called "Name", "Adress", "City / Region", "Favourit bands" and more).
We tried
1. Radio buttons allow to chose from 4 alternatives:
a) "Verstecktes Profilfeld, nur durch Administratoren, Module und Themes erreichbar."
Translation may be: "hidden field, only to reach by admins, modules and themes"
b) "Privates Feld, der Inhalt ist nur für privilegierte Benutzer verfügbar."
Translation may be: "rivate field, the content is only provided to priviliged users"
c) "Öffentliches Feld, der Inhalt wird auf der Profilseite aber nicht in den Mitgliederlisten angezeigt."
Translation may be: "public field, the content will be shown on the profile page but not in the list of members"
d) "Öffentliches Feld, der Inhalt wird auf der Profilseite und den Mitgliederlisten angezeigt."
Translation may be: "public field, the content will be shown on the profile page and in the list of members"
We tried it with c and with d. Nothing worked.
After any change we saved and locked out. But even after the lock in it did not change anything.
2. There is checkbox concerning visibility. In the german drupal this checkbox is named "Während der Benutzeranmeldung sichtbar", the translation may be "visible while logged in". I think it does not set a property of the custom profile field, but nevertheless we tried something... We may not understand the meaning of this checkbox correctly, but we tried out both: checkbox checked and checkbox not checked. After change we locked out and locked in again, to be sure rights will be read by drupal. Nothing worked.
We are puzzled, nothing works...
