I am currently building a site on Amazon Ec2 with the mysql database running on Amazon RDS and all has been workin very well.
I installed ubercart and when I activated the module my site has been unable to connect to the mysql database. The Amazon RDS is not recording any problems. I am getting the following error in the error.log when I attempt to connect.
[Wed Jan 23 01:30:30 2013] [error] [client 203.35.135.174] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away' i$
Any assistance on how to trouble shoot this would be greatly appreciated.

you can disable the module by setting its status to 0 in the system table of the database. perhaps the error is flooding the watchdog table of the DB?

Unfortunately that has not restored my site.

When I try to log in I get the database error above.
I have reset the admin password and it errors if I put the wrong password in but fails to load when I put the correct password.

I have managed to get back into the site, thank you for your assistance.
I needed to run the updater after making the database change.
