Unable to update from 6.5 to 6.8

Hello,

When I check for available updates for my website, i find that D 6.5 is outadated and the recommended version is 6.8.

So, I downloaded this package, deleted the old "includes" folder on my remote server and then uploaded the package containt in my root.

Then I runned the update.php script.

My problem is that at each time I verify the available updates, I realize that my website is still on 6.5 and the 6.8 version is recommended.

Have i mis-done any thing ?

I wonder where you got the information about updating? It seems wrong. The current version is 6.28. The easiest way to update is with drush and it is worth installing. If you prefer to update manually, you should not only replace the includes folder but everything (with the possible exception of .htaccess) apart from sites folder, provided your site is correctly built, with no hacks to core, and no non-core modules and themes in the modules and themes folders under document root.
