i LOVE the theme, but i run a website for an org that uses the colors black and gold. how could i get this theme to be more suitable for my needs?

change the colors in the css file.
there are no images that need a color change besides the little gifs: search.gif, menu-leaf.gif, menu-expanded.gif, menu-collapsed.gif

you should be able to do it quite easy. just open your site with firefox/firebug and start editing the css file and then change the things that suits you in the original template.css file.
