This module already looks through the database for corresponding nodes, right? How hard would it be to create a type of data entry that allows you to simply use the string value being supplied per-field despite being unable to associate said value with a preexisting node? I.e. - "Ad hoc" mode.

Using a reference field essentially locks you into always being forced to use a reference value. I understand that this is the whole point of this module, but sometimes you might not want this... Sometimes you might just want the text someone tries to submit.

(Hopefully this goes without saying that this module still kicks ass! Keep up the great work! ;.) )

Never mind everyone. I found this and it did the trick flawlessly!

Also, if the text value isn't able to reference any nodes at the time of creation, it will automatically update itself later when the node IS created. :.)
