Problems changing the Currency in a template

Hello,

I bought a CarDealer Theme which has a slide show that shows cars which are to be featured on the a car dealing site and am currently in the process of adjusting it to my needs. All is working fine, but there is one small problem:

there seems to be some bug regarding the output of the currency symbol for the cars which are promoted to the slideshow.

I have changed the currency information under contenttypes (see screen shots below):

I have also made sure this change is reflected under the content listings (see screenshot):

However, once i promote this car to the slideshow, it still shows the Dollar ("$") currency and not Euro. See screenshot below:

Can someone pls. tell me what i'm missing here.
maybea bug ?
If so, what would it involve to fix it ? (If someone can direct me to where i can do this, i would be happy to do it myself....) --> I'm suspecting i would have to dabble in one of the .tpl.php or .inc files... no ?

Even short hints as to where i could start looking for the problem would be a great help.....
