UsbWebserver provides a fully functional, portable WAMP stack that may be used to distribute or store a production Drupal site on a USB drive while retaining write-to-database functionality. My particular use case involves a Drupal 7 site with most of the content as Flash communicating between the client and server.

Getting and Setting up The UsbWebserve

  1. Download the UsbWebserver version here.
  2. You can read the manual of USBwebserver here
  3. Please extract the downloaded file into your usb drive.
  4. And Click usbwebserver application Icon
  5. You will get a pop with the option of phpmyadmin and localhost.
  6. Please clear the root folder in the usb drive and paste the drupal files and folders from the parent directory of respective drupal version.
  7. Click phpmyadmin and create the database(database port no:3307).
  8. Click localhost install your drupal website. (database port no:3307)

Else you can download the customized drupal7.19 with USBWebserver.

Password : admin

Note :- Please stop both services before you unplugging the usb drive . Otherwise it may cause to crashing the database.

At first, when I read an article about this, I could not believe in it. Now, I am using the service and making sure that I properly disconnect this before I take out the USB from my laptop. I have experienced some troubles with the service because I happened to unplug it the last time I used it. My advice is, be extra careful.

Hi. After clicking usbwebserver application icon, no pop is coming out. What do you think is the problem? I extracted the file well to my usb. I tried redownloading it, but still I encounter the same problem.
