Restricting access to nodes and basic pages

Does someone have a link / advice on how to restrict access to specific nodes and basic pages?
Is the best option to use TAC_Lite module?

I have personally found the Content Access module http://drupal.org/project/content_access to be the most flexible and reliable module, but it depends on your particular use case.
