I think this would be better off in the jobs forum, groups.drupal.org/jobs, if anywhere given the offered salary for an "expert?"

I agree with you Nigel. However, there are many themers even novice who are good as those with that higher hourly rate. I think many themers applied for this position for experience. Everyone, I suppose, should climb the ladder, starting at the bottom. Right?

Just a heads up, an hourly rate of $15.00 - $25.00 per hour is for a novice themer. An expert would be around $50-$100+

While I understand this may be the budget you have to work with, just have realistic expectations of who's going to apply.

Thanks for saying that in a much better way than my quick, possibly snipish comment!

Maybe in the UK and US it is like that. Everything is more expensive, so work per hour is also more expensive. If you don't like it don't apply. This is just spamming.

Nigel and I are just trying to give useful advice, typical to this forum.

Slovenia is at about 85% of EU GDP and Croatia is approaching that, right ;) ? Last time I was through Zagreb I remember things being cheaper, but not in the way they were in the mid 90s.

I understand that a local client base may be less willing to bear costs: that's the same in much of the rest of the world! But more sophisticated clients will want the job done better, which in turn will require more sophisticated talent and expertise. The latter puts you into a global competition for talent.

On the flip side of that, talent competes in a somewhat flat global marketplace. A Hungarian or Mexican developer can have clients in the US, UK, Singapore, etc. The physical location is somewhat irrelevant to pricing, as it is a global marketplace.
