I've been looking around and haven't seen much so I'm coming to you, the people who would know, to see if you can help me out.
We want to add a calendar module somewhere on our site... I'd prefer a block but a page would be ok... that will send out a Twitter/Facebook update or something like that when an event is near... say 12-24 hours.
Anyone know of anything like this?
If there isn't one that will do the Twitter/Facebook update what's a good calendar block I can use that will let me add events?

There is the calendar.module and the fullcalendar.module. As far as adding events you can create an event content type and utilize the date.module
