Description

Hi,

I found out that (on my system) search404 doesn't work with Active Search of JS Tools. Quite a few things use JS Tools so it would be nice if these two modules were compatible.

Disabling the Active Search from JS Tools works and that's fine for me, search404 is far more important but it would be nice to have the cool behavior of Active Search as well.

Great module, thanks!

This is probably an error in the way S404 operates, i.e. not a bug in this module. I have not looked at JS Tools, but it's very possible that these to features are not compatible by nature.

My apologies for the lame answer, please see http://drupal.org/node/190083.

I have some more information. It partially works now. I found that JS Tools and Devel have some issues and once I deactivated Devel Active Search (part of JS Tools) worked fine.

Now, on the normal Search page Active Search works, and on your search page it works. However, on your search page I am getting a duplicate search and resultset on a subsequent search. To see what I mean try this: http://www.lightingatwillowglen.com/tiffany, your seach page comes up, then press search and you will see it query in duplicate.

However, go to the normal search page: http://www.lightingatwillowglen.com/search/node and type in tiffany and active search works fine, and only once.

I have an idea for a fix for this. In your settings, just put an option that, upon someone pressing search, the search is redirected to the normal search page and activated. I suggest this because with this methodology, with any other module that enhances searching in any way, you will be able to most like maintain compatibility.

Would this be really quick and easy to implement (just a redirection in the right page)? - it would be a great help because the Active Search is creating taxonomy terms at the top of the search which is just magic for my needs.

Looks like you modified your search404 output to your requirements. Yes I think that it is possible to do a basic search here and then redirect the user to the search module for further searches. Since this is not a priority issue I will try to include this in the next release.

Yep, I did modify it a bit to make things work. I think the next release is a smart choice.
