I am looking for a module that will allow my customers to pay for my more expensive products in two or three equal installments. Each installment/payment would be part of the original order; they would not be separate orders. Is that possible with this module?

Did you ever get an answer? I'm also looking for a way to do installments / layby type transactions just as you describe, but cannot work out if this is something this module can do or not. Wondering if I should just be using the paypal buttons thing but not sure if that's the right path to take.

Unfortunately, I have not. I did a sort-of workaround using this module, where they order the product at 1/3 of the price, and then two recurring orders for 1/3 and 1/3 are scheduled for later dates. It's not perfect, but it served its purpose for a brief promotion we were running.

Please do let me/us know if you discover/develop a more elegant solution.
