setting default newsletter for existing users

Hi everyone,

On a drupal website I am working on there is a list of 500 users.

We are installing the newsletter module (simplenews etc)

I need to set up these 500 users, so they have subscribed to a default newsellter.

Can anyone provide any suggestions on how to do this?
