I know there's a discount ability to showcase products that have the wildcard skus, but I think it's necessary to also have the ability to ensure that people can also select wildcard items to disallow.

For example:

Product anything starting with RFB should NOT be allowed the coupon code.

Is there something I can do in the config/system where I can have that happen?
